CUPRA is one of the brands that produce the safest vehicles. The latest example of this is the CUPRA Terramar. The CUPRA Terramar has received the top rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP safety test. This means that the latest model from the Challenger brand joins the CUPRA Tavascan, CUPRA Born, CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon. All of these have also received the maximum number of stars in recent years.
The five-star rating awarded to the CUPRA Terramar by Euro NCAP reflects the importance we place on safety. This applies not only to the occupants of the vehicle, but to all road users. The new sporty and electrified SUV from CUPRA has taken up the challenge and, thanks to a range of advanced safety systems, has been able to join the CUPRA models Tavascan, Born, Formentor and Leon with the maximum possible number of points.

Success of the CUPRA Terramar in the Euro NCAP test
The basis for the success of the CUPRA Terramar in the Euro NCAP test is a wide range of integrated safety and comfort features. These offer safety and practical advantages for the person behind the wheel and for anyone else in the vehicle. The integrated technologies include, among other things, seven airbags as standard equipment, adaptive seat belts, a speed limiter and a lane assist system. In addition, there is traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking (Front Assist), turning and evasion assistance, as well as an attention and fatigue assistant (via a camera-based driver monitoring system in the rearview mirror).
Strong ratings for CUPRA Terramar in all test areas
The integration of these systems helped the CUPRA Terramar achieve above-average scores in every single Euro NCAP test area:
- Adult occupant protection: 89 percent
- Child occupant protection: 87 percent
- Vulnerable road user protection: 82 percent
- Safety systems: 76 percent
Euro NCAP is constantly updating and refining its test procedures. This is to ensure that vehicles are as safe as possible. The aim is to protect not only the people in the vehicle, but also all other road users.
Ever higher requirements for a good Euro NCAP rating
In 2025, Euro NCAP will enforce stricter requirements. These include, for example, biomechanical data on the people in the vehicle and rescue data sheets in all languages of the European Union. Added to this are vehicle immersion tests to ensure that relevant electrical systems continue to function for a certain period of time, thus enabling the people in the vehicle to leave it. But it also includes new leg impactors for pedestrian protection tests, which more realistically evaluate the thigh and shin, as well as new active safety scenarios to improve and mitigate damage to other road users.
The five-star rating for the CUPRA Terramar is a testament to the importance the brand places on safety. It demonstrates its ongoing commitment to bringing the safest vehicles to market.
