Drivers Do Not Maintain a Safe Distance from Bicycles

A new study on overtaking distance reveals that drivers are not leaving enough space when passing cyclists in Swiss cities. The VCS, in collaboration with OST, conducted measurements over approximately 1,500 kilometers. The average lateral distance was only 120 centimeters. The association is now calling for a legally mandated minimum distance of 1.5 meters.
