Aarau-Ost–Birrfeld and Perly–Bernex will become six-lane highways

With the “Transport ’45” project, the federal government aims to expand the A1 in a targeted manner. Two projects are scheduled for the 2027 expansion phase. Between Aarau-Ost and Birrfeld, the highway will be expanded to six lanes. The Perly–Bernex section near Geneva will also become six-lane. Both projects are intended to eliminate bottlenecks.
